Reeco Hackett hopes Pompey’s lengthy run of Fratton fixtures can help spark a run of positive results.
Saturday’s south coast victory over Bolton was just a second victory for the Blues in the space of 14 games.
They will now aim for another three-point haul when Cheltenham head to the south coast on Tuesday evening.
And that is followed by cup clashes with Harrow and Crystal Palace U21s, while a league clash with AFC Wimbledon could immediately follow if international call-ups put paid to a trip to Wycombe.
So Hackett is determined to make the most of the passionate home support to help inspire a welcome winning streak.
The forward said: “It’s been a tough run for us and so to produce a hard-working, resilient performance against Bolton – and come away with the victory – was massive.
“We’ve taken four points from the past couple of games and now it’s important that we keep building on that.
"The season isn’t defined by the first 15 or so games and there’s still a long way to go, so there’s no reason why we can’t finish in a high position."
“Beating Cheltenham and getting back-to-back wins would be massive. It would do a world of good for our confidence.
“Fratton Park can be a fortress for us and we feel a lot stronger when we’re playing at our home ground.
“The fans get behind us – through thick and thin – and there are four more games there in quick succession, which gives us a chance to hopefully build some momentum.
“The season isn’t defined by the first 15 or so games and there’s still a long way to go, so there’s no reason why we can’t finish in a high position.
“I’ve given my all – I always do every time I step out onto the pitch. That’s nothing out of the ordinary for me.
“That’s just the basic requirement in football. So if we all continue to do that, then there’s enough ability in this squad to produce a run of good results.”
Hackett has enjoyed plenty of time on the pitch in recent weeks, having featured just once before the start of this season.
He said: “I’ve said before that the gaffer has given me a platform to show what I can do – now it’s about me repaying that.”
