Pompey will look to extend their unbeaten run to seven games when they host AFC Wimbledon on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

It is a sequence that has seen Danny Cowley’s men climb to 10th in the League One standings, as well as securing progress in both the FA Cup and Papa John’s Trophy.

Their next opponents are down in 18th spot and are six points worse off, albeit with two games in hand.

The Dons have only tasted league success once since the middle of September, but three of their four victories so far have come on the road.

It will not be the first contest between the sides this season – and it would take a lot to match the excitement of the last one.

Ellis Harrison netted a hat-trick in a Papa John’s Trophy tie at Plough Lane, only for Mark Robinson’s troops to emerge 5-3 victors.

The Fratton faithful will be more eager to see a repeat of last term’s corresponding fixture – the first game on home soil in 2021.

John Marquis, Ryan Williams, Sean Raggett and Ben Close were all on target in a 4-0 midweek success back in January.

TEAM NEWS
Pompey will have Gavin Bazunu and Joe Morrell available again after the pair returned from international duty.

But there are still doubts over Reeco Hackett (back) and John Marquis (tendon), with the duo missing the trip to Wycombe.

The Blues will definitely still be without skipper Clark Robertson (hip), as well as Ellis Harrison (ankle), Jayden Reid (knee) and Ryan Tunnicliffe (hamstring).

AFC Wimbledon are currently missing Cheye Alexander (ankle), George Marsh (foot) and Will Nightingale (leg).

They are also sweating over the fitness of Alex Woodyard (knee), Anthony Hartigan (toe), Ben Heneghan (leg) and Henry Lawrence (illness).
