Pompey Women beat Hounslow for the third time this season to book their place in the second round of the National League Plate.
Forwards Shannon Albuery and Tamsin de Bunsen both found the target in a 2-0 success at Westleigh Park.
Jay Sadler made four changes from the side that beat the same outfit in the league a fortnight earlier.
Jazz Younger, Jade Bradley, Cherelle Khassal and de Bunsen all returned to the starting line-up, with Rebekah Tonks, Evie Gane, Freya Jones and Rosie McDonnell making way.
As in the most recent contest, the home side were totally dominant from the start and had to remain patient against stubborn opposition.
Albuery came close to breaking the deadlock after receiving Bradley’s pass, but saw her effort saved by Sophia Garrido.
And the Blues did forge ahead on the half-hour mark, as top scorer ALBUERY turned her marker inside the box before firing home.
Khassal thought she had doubled the lead just before the interval, but celebrations were cut short by an offside flag.
Half Time: Pompey 1 Hounslow 0
It was a familiar story once the action resumed and Albuery dragged a shot narrowly wide following good work from Sammy Quayle.
But Pompey did finally make their pressure count by doubling their advantage in some style on 53 minutes.
The ball fell to DE BUNSEN and she unleashed an absolute rocket from 25 yards, with the ball screaming into the corner.
And only a fantastic stop from Garrido then stopped Hayley Bridge from immediately netting again for the hosts.
Sadler gave valuable minutes to some more of his squad, with a quartet of substitutions on the hour mark.
And the chances kept coming, with de Bunsen curling just over before Garrido was called into action again to deny Widdows.
Hounslow were in damage limitation mode and the Blues had to be content with just the two goals, with their place in round two never really in any doubt.
