Portsmouth Football Club are delighted to announce that Milkwood Care have extended their sponsorship of the academy team for a further two seasons.
The Petersfield-based company – who provide a range of specialist care homes across the south of England – have been supporting young Pompey players since 2015.
And their logo will continue to appear on the back of shirts worn by our under-18 side throughout the 2021/22 and 2022/23 campaigns.
The partnership will see players, depending on Covid restrictions, visit the care homes to enjoy tea and cake with the residents.
Members of the Pompey History Society will also provide presentations to help relive some of those fond Fratton memories.
Company director Robin Cheeseman said: “The directors of Milkwood Care are delighted to announce their continued support of the Portsmouth Football Club academy.
“During this past 18 months, I think we have all come to realise the importance of stability and excitement in our lives.
"The directors of Milkwood Care are delighted to announce their continued support of the Portsmouth Football Club academy."
“Let’s hope that the first team can drive forward and that we can see one or two academy players edge their way into the side.”
Fellow director Janet Lloyd Leech said: “It is important that the youth players are involved in elements of life outside of football.
“We hope that the links between the players and residents in the Milkwood Care home are not only maintained, but enhanced. We will continue to care for the old and support the young.”
Anna Mitchell, Pompey’s chief commercial officer, added: “We have enjoyed a long partnership with Milkwood Care and so I’m delighted that this will continue.
“It is fantastic that they support the academy both on and off the pitch and we look forward to being able to visit the residents in person again, when it is safe to do so.”
