The games come thick and fast during April, with Pompey taking to the pitch eight times in the space of just 25 days.

But Ronan Curtis is eager to embrace the challenge of so many matches at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

A draw at Bolton on Tuesday night started that run, which continues with a weekend trip to Cheltenham.

And with a sold out away following backing the Blues at Whaddon Road, Curtis is eager for a return to winning ways.

He said: “We’re looking forward to it and hopefully we can build on the point at Bolton to get a good result on the road.

“We know that there are a lot of Pompey supporters making the trip up there – that’s what this club is all about.

"There are a load of matches coming up, but that’s the beauty of football – I want to play as many as possible."

We’ve got a massive fan-base and it’ll be nice to have them behind us. We want to give them plenty to cheer.

“Aside from the Plymouth game we haven’t been beaten for quite a while and we’re looking to extend that run.

“There are a load of matches coming up, but that’s the beauty of football – I want to play as many as possible.

“It’s as of us having back-to-back games right up to the end of the season and we need to have a really big push.

“The fact that we’ve got so many in such a shot amount of time means that everyone is going to be needed.”

Cheltenham secured the League Two title last term and are currently sitting comfortably in mid-table.

Curtis said: “They’ve done really well this season and we’ll be doing our analysis on them, so hopefully we can learn a few things to take into the game.”
