Match Preview: Bridgwater v Pompey Women

Blues back on the road

15 April 2022

Pompey Women return to action as they take on Bridgwater United in the National League on Easter Sunday (2pm kick-off).

It comes off the back of a hard-fought 1-0 win for Jay Sadler's side at Stadium MK a week ago.

Despite a late onslaught from the Dons, Cherelle Khassal's strike early in the second half was enough to secure the points

Pompey hosted Bridgwater in the reverse fixture at Westleigh Park back in October.

A number of decent openings were created, but goals from Poppy Wilson and Meesha Dudley-Jones ensured the visitors departed with a maximum haul.

This will be the Blues' first trip to Bridgwater's Fairfax Park, although the two teams did meet when the opponents went under the name of Yeovil.

Katie James and Jade Widdows were on target in a 2-2 opening day draw at Taunton Town in 2020.

Bridgwater currently sit fourth in the National League table and head into the fixture on the back of a 1-0 home victory over Oxford.

Jazz Younger misses out after taking a blow to the head in last week's victory over MK Dons.

Sadler will also be without Danielle Rowe, Freya Jones and Tamsin de Bunsen, who are all sidelined.

The game takes place at Bridgwater United's Fairfax Park (TA6 4TZ), with tickets available to buy at the turnstiles.
