He might not have been there in person, but Louis Thompson was at Vale Park in spirit.
The midfielder is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after a challenge in last Saturday’s win over Bristol Rovers left him with a double leg break.
But he still had an important to role to play in the dressing room after Pompey had beaten Port Vale to go top of League One.
Danny Cowley explained the important task given to Thompson and you can watch the results in the video below.
"He’s such an important member of our squad and it’s great that he was able to influence things in his own way."
The Blues boss said: “It’s normally Ronan’s music that dominates the changing room and it’s bloody awful!
“Everyone had to select a song and Louis chose the one we come out to at Fratton Park and also had one if we were to win.
“That was ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ and he came on FaceTime afterwards and was singing with all the boys in the changing room.
“He’s such an important member of our squad and it’s great that he was able to influence things in his own way.”
That was for you, Louis 💙
