Joe Morrell has labelled Pompey’s form at the start of 2022 as ‘unacceptable’.
The Blues have yet to win a league match since the turn of the year, collecting just two points from five games.
They were beaten 2-1 at Fratton Park by Charlton in the most recent outing, with a late Michael Jacobs strike as good as it got for the hosts.
It leaves Pompey well adrift of the play-offs and Morrell knows they have to get back on track quickly.
The midfielder said: “You could probably use my interview from the MK Dons game and it would be a similar story, unfortunately.
“It’s completely unacceptable that we haven’t won in five games now and we have to look at ourselves.
"We have to turn it around quickly because otherwise this season is going to fade away and we’ll have nothing to play for."
“The fact that it is repetitive and we’ve had those moments like this before is what makes it so frustrating.
“We have to turn it around quickly because otherwise this season is going to fade away and we’ll have nothing to play for.
“There’s nothing I can say that’s going to make the supporters feel better. They’re fantastic and we can’t give them anything to cheer at the moment.
“When you’re not winning, it’s always a concern and you’ll look for things that are a problem. We’ve got enough quality to score goals and get results.
“We’ve done well in parts, but the better teams will put together those 90-minute performances week after week.
“It’s about piecing it all together and finding the best version of us because we’re not doing that at the moment.”
