Pompey had to stay patient before breaking down Doncaster in the second half and securing a 4-0 victory last Saturday.

Their opponents were at the foot of the League One table at the time, but have since been replaced by Crewe.

And Sean Raggett believes the Blues will have to work hard to break down the Railwaymen when they make the long trip to Alexandra Stadium this weekend.

So the defender does not want any complacency to set in as his side chase a third League One win in succession.

He said: “With where we currently find ourselves in the league, we know we need to put a good run together.

“Hopefully the past two games can be the start of that and it’s important we now carry it on over the next few weeks.

"This is probably the hardest time to play these kind of teams, so we’re aware how tough it’s going to be."

“But when you’re facing teams at the bottom of the table at this stage of the season, you know they’re going to be fighting for their lives.

“This is probably the hardest time to play these kind of teams, so we’re aware how tough it’s going to be on Saturday.

“However, we’re confident that if we perform to the standards we know we can reach, then we’ll get the win.

“You can see around the group that everyone’s brightened up after recent results and we’ll need to keep spirits high.

“All we can do is keep winning matches and build a sequence like we saw earlier in the season, but it’s important that we just take it one game at a time for now.”

Raggett has scored in each of his past two outings, having previously only found the net once this season.

He said: “I’ve been disappointed not to get a few more, so it’s nice to get a couple and I want to keep helping the team in that way if I can.”
