John Marquis leads the line for Pompey in this evening’s Papa John’s Trophy second round tie at Exeter.
He replaces Ronan Curtis in one of four changes from the side that drew with Cambridge in the league at the start of the week.
Alex Bass is given a chance between the sticks, while Lee Brown – who wears the captain’s armband – and Miguel Azeez also start.
Reeco Hackett joins Curtis on the bench, while Gavin Bazunu and Shaun Williams are not included in the squad.
Also named among the substitutes are young keeper Toby Steward and academy team-mate Harry Jewitt-White.
