Reid Back And Raring To Go

Winger could feature against Hawks and Gosport

Jayden Reid endured a disappointing first season as a Pompey player.

The winger was snapped up by Danny Cowley last July after impressing during a pre-season trial period.

But he was injured during a friendly with Luton a few days later, with a ruptured cruciate ligament ruling him out for the entire 2021/22 campaign.

However, Reid has now completed his rehabilitation work and is looking to get his Blues career back on track.

He said: “I was working on my own for a lot of last season, so it’s been nice to be back out with the rest of the lads again.

“I think everyone was struggling a bit on the first day of training because it was so warm, but we’ve had some really good sessions.

"I want to play my part by providing some goals and assists to help Pompey have a successful season."

“I’m just happy to be recovered from my injury because it was obviously frustrating to miss the whole season.

“Now I’m back and, like everyone else, working hard to make sure we’re ready for the first league match.

“I want to play my part by providing some goals and assists to help Pompey have a successful season.”

Pompey have been training for two weeks now, with the first two friendlies taking place this weekend.

Danny Cowley’s side visit Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday, with a trip to Gosport following on Sunday.

Reid said: “Training is good, but it’s always nice to be back out on the pitch again, so I’m looking forward to the games.”
