Kim Stenning Becomes Pompey Women Assistant Manager

New addition to Blues' backroom team

28 June 2022

Portsmouth FC Women have appointed Kim Stenning as assistant manager.

The former Crawley head coach joins Jay Sadler's backroom team ahead of the new National League campaign and will work alongside his current assistant, Luke Prior.

Kim, who currently holds the role of football development manager at the Royal Navy FA, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role.

"My first conversation with Jay was brilliant. He's very ambitious and he really won me over in the way he talks about the club and the passion he has for the team."

Following a glittering playing career, she has progressed up the coaching ladder and currently holds the UEFA A Licence.

Stenning said: "I'm really excited to get things over the line. I've always had my eye on Pompey as I work in the area, so it's great to be officially part of the coaching team.

It will be great to work with Jay – he's quite a bubbly guy and has been very easy to get on with these past few weeks.

"We've been able to bounce ideas off each other and we have similar qualifications, so we're on the same page when we talk about our game model and how we want to play.

"The players have made me feel really welcome. I think it really helps that I've played with some of them during my playing days."

"The off-season has been really proactive. There's been several meetings and conversations with the rest of the backroom team, making sure that everyone is involved and that everyone's on the same page, so I'm really looking forward to working with them."
