Pompey will face League Two sides AFC Wimbledon and Crawley in the group stages of the 2022/23 Papa John's Trophy.
Danny Cowley’s men will face one of the clubs at home and the other away in Group B of the Southern Section
They will also be at home to an invited Category One under-21 side, with the draw taking place at 11.30am on Thursday (June 23) and broadcast live on Sky Sports News.
The invited clubs in the Southern Section of the draw include Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brighton, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Tottenham and West Ham.
Pompey and AFC Wimbledon also clashed in the group stage of last season’s competition, with Ellis Harrison netting a hat-trick in a dramatic 5-3 defeat.
The three most recent competitive meetings with Crawley took place in the EFL Trophy in three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019 – with the Blues winning all of them.
Games are scheduled to take place in the weeks commencing August 29, September 19 and October 17, although there is some flexibility with those dates.
