Women back in league action

21 March 2022

Pompey Women are finally back in action as they take on Keynsham Town in the FA Women’s National League on Sunday (2pm kick-off).

It's been a fortnight since the Blues last outing, as they saw off London Bees 4-0 at the Hive.

Shannon Albuery netted a hat-trick, whilst Anaisa Harney contributed early in the second half.

Pompey hosted Keynsham in the reverse fixture at Westleigh Park back in September.

Cherelle Khassal bagged an early brace, whilst there were also first half goals from Hayley Bridge and Shannon Albuery.

Tamsin de Bunsen and Emma Jones both scored in stoppage-time to round off a 6-1 victory.

The Blues' last trip to the AJN Stadium was back in September 2020, with goals from Becki Bath and Rosie McDonnell securing a 2-1 victory.

Keynsham currently sit 12th in the National League table, occupying one of four spots in the relegation zone.

TEAM NEWS
Forward Tamsin de Bunsen could return to the matchday squad after missing the London Bees game with injury.

But Jay Sadler will be without several first team players who tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week.

MATCH INFORMATION
The game takes place at Keynsham Town's AJN Stadium (BS31 2BE), with tickets available to buy at the turnstiles (£4).

Pompey return to Fratton Park next Sunday (April 3) when they host MK Dons in the National League (2pm kick-offf). Tickets are available to purchase online here.
