Fratton Park Redevelopment: Work Starts In South Stand

Next stage of stadium works begins

3 May 2022

The conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign has seen work stepping up on the redevelopment of Fratton Park.

All seats have now been stripped from the South Stand, while the removal of the ‘hanging basket’ hospitality section has exposed the Archibald Leitch truss.

The stand will now be reprofiled to transform the historic structure into one continuous tier.

Supporters will benefit from improved sightlines, consistent floor levels and increased concourse space.

Meanwhile, work in the North Lower has started in Blocks F-K to replicate what has occurred in Blocks A-E since January.

There will be 12 new spaces for wheelchair users and their personal assistants in this stand, as well as additional kiosks, increased milling areas in the concourses and increased toilet facilities for female supporters.

Safety will be enhanced through wider staircases, additional safety barriers, renewed LED lighting and electrical works.

There will be a net increase of 600 seats across the North Lower, representing another step towards increasing Fratton Park’s capacity.

Season ticket holders in the North Lower should have received an email offering them a specific seat for the 2022/23 campaign. Please email seatmoves@pompeyfc.co.uk if you have not received this.
