Information about the direct debit scheme with Premium Credit

27 May 2022

Pompey are pleased to offer supporters the chance to spread the cost of their 2022/23 season ticket.

The club have partnered with Premium Credit, who provide the ability for fans to pay for their seat over the course of eight months through a direct debit.

Supporters can click here to apply directly through Premium Credit with a simple application process that should take just a few minutes to complete.

In most cases, you will receive an instant response from Premium Credit to confirm if your application has been successful.

Once you have been notified that your application is successful, please email tickets@pompeyfc.co.uk to confirm this, as well as providing your full name, Client ID, ticket price category (eg, adult or young person) and your seat number/area (if known) so that your season ticket can be assigned.

Please note that the process is currently only open to existing 2021/22 season ticket holders

Anyone wishing to purchase a new season ticket must contact the ticket office from either Thursday, June 9 (2021/22 members) or Monday, June 13 (general sale) to enquire about availability before applying through Premium Credit.

2021/22 Full and flexi-season ticket holders: Apply from May 27.

New season ticket purchases: Contact the ticket office from June 13 (or from June 9 if you are a 2021/22 member) and then apply through Premium Credit once your season ticket has been reserved.

Premium Credit FAQs

Is there a deadline to apply through Premium Credit?
Yes. All applications must be made before Thursday, June 30.

What interest rates apply?
Premium Credit have a basic rate charge of 4.2 per cent interest over the eight-month period which applies to season ticket costs of over £404. Anything less than this will incur a minimum charge of £17 over the eight-month period.

How do I apply?
Visit the Premium Credit website and enter ‘Portsmouth’ in the search box before selecting ‘Portsmouth Football Club’.

Enter the price of your season ticket to receive a quote. This should be the complete price for all season tickets you are purchasing (if more than one), including the £2 charge per season ticket to cover the cost of posting out the new season cards. Click here for a full list of prices.

You will be asked for a season ticket payment date. This is the day of the month each payment will be taken and the date you input must be within 30 days of your application. You should then input your Client ID or membership number. If you do not have this, then you can enter your email address.

Click next to be taken to an application form where you will need to enter your details, followed by your bank details.

Once you have submitted this information, the status of your application will be shown either automatically or within 30 days.

Once approved, when will I receive my season card?
Season cards will be posted out to supporters in July.

Will I be subjected to a credit check and if so, who by?
Supporters will have a credit search carried out by Premium Credit. They have a minimum credit scoring threshold required to be accepted and a supporter needs to score above this. Premium Credit are not able to accept anyone who is in an IVA or recently been made bankrupt.

This will show on credit files as a hard credit search. Any disputes with a credit file will be forwarded to Premium Credit to investigate.

You will be contacted by Premium Credit or the Portsmouth FC ticket office if your application is declined. There is no minimum timeframe if you wish to reapply.

Is there a default fee?
Yes. This is £27.50.

How will the account of a non-payer be affected?
If a payment is missed and you are unable to make the payment within the allotted timeframe, you will be contacted.

Will the season ticket be paid for by direct debit?
Yes. This is across a period of eight months.

If an account is referred to Premium Credit, what is the timeframe for a decision to be made?
Most application will be turned around using Premium Credit’s automatic approval process, which takes a maximum of 30 seconds. If Premium Credit struggle to identify the supporter using this automatic approval process, it will then be referred to a manual underwriter, which can take a maximum of five working days.

What happens if I have a change in my financial circumstances?
These will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis and Premier Credit encourage you to speak to an adviser in their contact centre. Instances of illness or injury are also dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
