Dan King Becomes Pompey Women First Team Coach

New addition to the Blues’ backroom team

6 November 2022

Pompey Women have appointed Dan King as first team coach.

Jay Sadler’s new addition studied at the University of Portsmouth before working his way up the men’s non-league pyramid whilst he studied for his UEFA B Licence.

King has experience in coaching in the Women’s National League with Crawley Wasps, where he worked alongside the Blues’ current assistant manager Kim Stenning.

Dan said: “I’m delighted to be part of the Pompey Women set up. Having come up against the team last year and seeing how they like to play, the passion they have for the game, but also the passion the fans have for the club in general, is amazing.

“Portsmouth is like a second home for me after attending university here and on a personal level, it’s been a big part of my life, so to be part of the club is an amazing feeling.”

Blues boss Sadler added: “I'm really happy to bring Dan into our multidisciplinary team. He joins with a wealth of experience, across different formats of the game.

“His character and passion for the game is transmissible and I'm excited to get to work with him.”
