Ronan Curtis has been on the pitch during every single one of Pompey’s 18 fixtures so far this season.
Some of those appearances have been from the start, while others have seen him emerge from the bench.
But the Republic of Ireland knows that the performance of the team is more important than any individual success.
And Curtis will ensure that he is fully prepared to give his all for the Blues whenever he is called upon.
The forward said: “It’s not been the greatest for me so far, although there have still been a few goals and assists.
“The important thing is that the team is doing well, which we have been this season, and that we remain unbeaten at home.
“I’ve been in and out of the team and of course I want to play every game, but there’s still a long way to go.
"I’m always disappointed when I’m not starting, but if a player doesn’t have a problem getting dropped, then he’s in the wrong job!"
“This is my fifth year at the club and I’ve made more than 200 appearances, am the longest serving player and the top scorer this century.

Pompey have not lost on home soil since the end of January and Curtis wants that run extended against Shrewsbury on Saturday.
He said: “We know how good Fratton is and what the fans bring in, while the players we’ve got are of a high calibre.
“That’s 18 games since we last lost here, but a few of them have been draws and we want to turn them into wins.
“We went on a really good run at the start of the season before losing at Ipswich – now it’s time for another one.”
