Koroma Targets More Goals

Forward enjoying the start to life at Pompey

16 October 2022

Josh Koroma has certainly made a positive impact since his deadline day arrival at Fratton Park last month.

The on-loan Huddersfield forward already has four goals to his name in just six appearances for Pompey.

Included in that tally are a couple of impressive League One strikes in home draws with Plymouth and Fleetwood.

And Koroma is hopeful that he can continue finding the net as he gels more with his Blues team-mates.

He said: “I’ve enjoyed every moment of it and from the first day I arrived, everyone’s been good with me – from the players and staff to the fans.

“I’m happy to be here and have got a few goals, so I’m starting to feel more comfortable and am building relationships.

"Finishing is something that I work on every single day after training. I want to keep getting better and love giving the keepers here a hard time!"

“I scored on my first start at Fratton Park and it was an unbelievable feeling. Hopefully that can continue.

Pompey make the relatively short trip to the capital on Monday night to take on Charlton in a televised fixture.

Koroma said: “We expect a tough game – as we do when we face any side in this division – and it’s never easy away from home.

“I’m sure the Pompey fans will travel in their numbers and hopefully we can collect all three points for them.

“There are going to be ups and downs throughout the season, but we’ve only lost one league game so far and we’ll just keep looking forward.”
