Television audiences will soon be getting used to watching Pompey in League One action on the box.

This evening’s contest at Charlton (8pm kick-off) is the first of three matches in seven weeks to have been selected for live broadcast.

Next months’ Fratton clash with Derby and a trip to Wycombe in early December have also been chosen to entertain armchair supporters.

But first up is a meeting with an Addicks outfit who are sitting 14th in the standings, with six fewer points than their visitors, having played two games more.

Ben Garner’s men have saved their best form for fixtures at The Valley and are yet to be beaten there this season.

They have won three and drawn three on home soil in the league, with a couple of cup successes thrown in for good measure.

Charlton had been on a seven-match winless run before their last match in London – a 4-2 victory over Exeter six days ago.

Pompey were unfortunate to be held to a 2-2 draw on their last visit to SE7, while the Addicks enjoyed a 2-1 win at Fratton Park back in January.

TEAM NEWS
Tom Lowery (hamstring) and Joe Rafferty (stomach) have both returned to training, but Louis Thompson (leg) is still missing.

The home side will be without the injured pair of Diallang Jaiyesimi (ankle) and Miles Leaburn (ankle).

Former Pompey players Craig MacGillivray and Jayden Stockley are likely to be involved in Charlton’s matchday squad.
