Matchday Guide: Pompey v Plymouth

Pompey set up a matchday experience working group over the summer, comprising a cross-section of our fanbase.

They have provided input on a wide range of topics, including tickets, communications and safety, as well as concessions and catering.

The group have met on three occasions and have a WhatsApp group allowing them to contact the club directly to share their opinions on what is working well and what can be improved.

One of the key points raised in enhancing the matchday experience was the fanzone, which has now been successfully relocated to behind the Fratton End.

This has led to more supporters arriving earlier for games and soaking up the pre-match atmosphere.

The fanzone will be in full swing again on Saturday for the League One clash with Plymouth, including a DJ, mobile food cart and inflatable goal – run by Pompey in the Community – for our young Blues to enjoy.

Supporters might have seen a big container installed before the last match and we are delighted to say this will be operational against Argyle, serving beer, soft drinks, sweets, crisps and a special offering of nachos.

We would like to thank our working group – who will be meeting again in October – for their input. Click here to find out more information about the matchday experience at Fratton Park.

The kiosks inside the ground (not including Milton End) will be offering a special early bird offer of a pie and a pint for just £7.95 from when the turnstiles open at 1.30pm until 2pm.

And we are also continuing to trial a new ‘beer token’ system in the North Stand. These can be bought from kiosks and three and five, with priority queues in these kiosks.

Fans will be able to purchase Moretti on tap in kiosk four in the North Upper, with nachos also available to purchase.

Home fans will be able to visit the Victory Bar from midday and we would like to mind everyone that Fratton Park is a cashless stadium.

Please note that all children under 13 who are attending the game need to be accompanied by an adult.
