Pompey Women scored two early first half goals in their victory over Watford on Tuesday evening.

And Jay Sadler highlighted his side's discipline in ensuring they were able to keep a clean sheet was kept.

The Blues boss said: "The fight this group had for each other was evident. To a player, they left everything out on that a pitch and I couldn’t have asked for any more. It was a performance to be proud of.

"For now we can enjoy this moment, but come Thursday we must refocus and get ready for another tough test on Sunday."

"When the chances came, we took them. They were two well worked goals, with Nicole getting her first for the club. Then at the other end we had to stay disciplined and dig in deep.

"Han has made a vital save just before the half, which for me is just as important as the goals scored.

"Then as the game progressed, I saw a group of players starting to believe in themselves.

"We knew of Watford's qualities going into the game, both individually and collectively. We had to be brave in both boxes and stay concentrated throughout.

"For now we can enjoy this moment, but come Thursday we must refocus and get ready for another tough test on Sunday."
