Television production students from the University of Portsmouth and Portsmouth FC have joined forces once again to create a first of its kind preview show for the big screen at Fratton Park.
The 20-minute feature will be shown ahead of the Accrington game, previewing the penultimate Fratton fixture of the season.
The production will cover a range of topics and will be hosted by student Helen Macdonald, who will be joined by club legend Alan Knight, women's team manager Jay Sadler and women's team chair Eric Coleborn in the Blues-themed set at White Swan Studio.
The panel will look back to March’s victory against this weekend’s visitors and hear from head coach John Mousinho.
They will also get the thoughts of supporters ahead of the 10-year anniversary of community ownership, as well as looking ahead to Pompey Women’s meeting with Crawley at Fratton Park on Sunday, April 30.
And a popular member of the first team squad will join the group later in the programme, as they look into his recent League One performances in the University’s multi-million-pound Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality (CCI XR) facility.
The CCI XR is the UK’s first purpose-built site that brings together a range of the very latest XR technologies under one roof to support innovation in virtual, augmented and extended realities.
The club’s head of marketing and communications Matthew Barker said: “We’re delighted to have worked with talented students at the University of Portsmouth on the Pompey Preview project.
“We’re always looking at ways to enhance the matchday experience for supporters. This is an excellent example of how the football club works with talent and innovative technology from Portsmouth to deliver an outstanding piece of work.
“We hope this can be the start of something really exciting to further engage fans on matchdays.”
Fans wanting to tune into the show should head to their seats early and they will also be able to take advantage of Piglets Pantry’s early bird offer.
This special deal includes a pie and a pint for just £7.95 (or pie and a soft drink for £6) and is available from when the turnstiles open at 1.30pm until 2pm.
