Loan Round-Up: Another Clean Sheet For Steward

Six players in action over the weekend

14 August 2023

Several members of the Pompey squad were involved for their loan clubs over the weekend.

Toby Steward
The teenage keeper continued his impressive start to the season with Gosport, keeping a clean sheet for a second successive game.

Boro won 2-0 at Plymouth Parkway in the Southern League Premier, courtesy of goals from Dan Wooden and former Pompey youngster Harvey Rew.

Academy defender Harvey Laidlaw was an unused substitute for the visitors at Bolitho Park.

Josh Oluwayemi
The keeper played in Chelmsford’s home clash with Hampton & Richmond in the National League South.

His side played out a 1-1 draw, with Callum Jones on target for City before Ruaridh Donaldson levelled for the visitors.

Liam Vincent
The defender enjoyed a first match back at Worthing, starting their 3-0 victory at Torquay in National League South.

Haji Mnoga
It was not quite such an enjoyable afternoon for the defender, who had scored and was named man-of-the-match in a thumping 5-2 win for Aldershot the previous week.

This time he was involved in a 5-1 National League defeat at the hands of Oldham, with former Pompey winger Ben Tollitt among the Latics scorers.

Harry Jewitt-White
The midfielder made his first appearance of the season for Havant & Waterlooville, coming off the bench in the second half against Chippenham.

But the Hawks were beaten 4-2 at Westleigh Park, with both sides ending the National League South contest with 10 men.

Destiny Ojo
The academy forward came on as a late substitute for Poole Town for the second week running, but this time he was unable to find the target.

He did come close to grabbing a late winner, however, seeing a late shot blocked in a 2-2 draw with Hendon.

Ojo’s Pompey academy team-mate Sam Folarin was not involved in the matchday squad in Dorset.
