Loan Watch: Harry Starts In Hawks Win

Find out how Pompey players fared

4 December 2023

Several members of the Pompey squad were involved for their loan clubs over the past week.

Harry Jewitt-White
The midfielder was brought on as a stoppage-time substitute for struggling Havant & Waterlooville in their midweek 3-1 loss at Maidstone.

That saw the club part company with manager Steve King and Jewitt-White was then handed a rare start on Saturday.

And he helped the Hawks record just a second National League South victory of the season, with a 4-3 success against Dover at Westleigh Park.

Haji Mnoga
Aldershot took a break from trying to secure National League promotion by hosting Stockport in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Pompey defender started the contest against the League Two leaders, which was courtesy of last month’s incredible 7-4 victory at Swindon.

Josh Stokes struck twice for the Shots to earn a 2-2 draw and a replay, with a third round trip to Championship side West Brom the prize up for grabs.

Toby Steward
The keeper earned an immediate recall to the Gosport side for their midweek clash with Hanwell Town after serving a suspension.

It looked like being a disappointing night as Boro found themselves 2-0 down at Privett Park, but they fought back to level before Dan Wooden struck a stoppage-time winner.

Steward was not in action on Saturday, though, as the cold weather meant a scheduled Southern League Premier trip to Harrow was postponed.

Destiny Ojo
The academy striker was named on the bench for Poole’s trip to Merthyr on Tuesday night and was brought on early in the second half.

His side were already leading at that point and Ojo provided the assist for Tony Lee to wrap up a 2-0 Southern League Premier win.

But he was then sent off for picking up a second booking moments later, although could still be used as a substitute for the Dolphins’ clash with Winchester on Saturday.

That match was evenly poised at 1-1 five minutes after the interval, when the floodlights failed, causing the game to be abandoned.
