There are, on paper at least, no tougher places to visit and come away with all three points in the whole division.
Pompey will look to become the first away team to win at Sincil Bank in the league this season when they face Lincoln on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Despite that daunting record – matched by no other third tier side – the hosts have only come out on top there three times themselves, with an incredible 11 fixtures finishing all square.
They did enjoy victory in the most recent game there, however, with a narrow success in a bad-tempered clash with Bristol Rovers that led to opposition manager Joey Barton turning the air blue.
The Imps then picked up a creditable 1-1 draw at Derby on Valentine’s Day, despite playing most of the second half with just 10 men.
It leaves Mark Kennedy’s men sitting 13th in the standings and three points behind Pompey, having played the same number of games.
The sides played out goalless stalemate at Fratton Park in a game of few clear-cut chances at the start of the season.
But the Blues have won on each of their past four visits to Lincoln, including last term when Marcus Harness, George Hirst and Reeco Hackett all netted in a 3-0 victory.
TEAM NEWS
Pompey are sweating on the fitness of Di’Shon Bernard (hamstring) and Marlon Pack (knee) after the duo both failed late fitness tests ahead of the Burton game.
Matt Macey could feature having missed the last couple of matches through illness, while Ronan Curtis is available again following an ankle problem
But the Blues are still without Tom Lowery (hamstring), Jay Mingi (knee), Jayden Reid (knee), Clark Robertson (hip) and Zak Swanson (groin).
Lincoln are missing the suspended Lewis Montsma after the defender admitted a charge of violent conduct against Bristol Rovers.
Forward Ben House is also banned following his dismissal for two yellow cards at Derby earlier in the week.
