Pompey Women: Development Team Update

Latest on young Blues

17 February 2023

Pompey Women’s development team have collected 10 points from five league games since the turn of the year.

They also beat Stourbridge 1-0 in the National League Plate quarter-final, with April Hill’s strike securing a space in the last four.

Their impressive run began in January, with Macey Walters on target twice in a 2-2 draw at Keynsham.

The Blues then secured the first of three successive league victories a week later, as they beat south coast rivals Bournemouth 2-0, with Maise Aldridge and Gemma Luke on the scoresheet.

Hill’s second goal of the month helped Molly Small’s side to a 2-1 win at Bridgwater, with first team midfielder Anisha Hill also on target before completing a loan move to Fulham.

They lost 2-1 at Swindon before bouncing back in their reverse fixture against the Robins, with Hill and Jess Smith among the goals in a 3-0 success.

Pompey are next in action against Exeter this Sunday in the National League Plate semi-final. Kick-off is 2pm at Alton FC.
