Pompey have signed defender Conor Shaughnessy following his departure from Burton.
The 26-year-old Irish centre-back has agreed a two-year deal, with the club option of a further 12 months.
Blues boss John Mousinho said: “Conor is a very versatile player and has appeared in a number of positions for Burton over the past couple of years.
“He’s just as comfortable operating in the middle of the park than he is at the back, but we’ve brought him in because of his quality.
“Athletic and very comfortable on the ball, his challenge is to nail down a place in the side next season.

“Conor is someone who I’m very excited to see playing in a Pompey shirt – and I’m sure the fans are too.”
Shaughnessy turned professional with Reading before signing for Leeds, where he appeared in the Championship.
He had several spells out on loan, being named on the bench in the Scottish Cup final during his time with Hearts.
Shaughnessy – who has represented Republic of Ireland up to under-21 level – then moved on to Rochdale before signing for Burton in the summer of 2021.
He scored four goals in 62 appearances during his two years with the Brewers, including two outings at Fratton Park.
Watch Shaughnessy in action throughout the 2023/24 campaign by purchasing a season ticket, with more than 10,000 already sold.
