Matchday Guide: Pompey v Forest Green

Pompey are back in Fratton action when they take on Forest Green at Fratton Park on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

And there is plenty going on around the ground to get everyone in the mood for the big game.

Pompey 125
The 125th anniversary celebrations get started on Saturday, when Pompey welcome a host of former players back to Fratton Park.

There are 60 years between when Ray Crawford made his debut in 1957 and Michael Doyle’s final Blues appearance in 2017, so there will be something to stir the memories of everyone inside the ground.

Our club shop in Anson Road is open from 9am and will see exclusive anniversary merchandise on sale, including our ‘new’ retro kits.

The Victory Bar is open for home fans from midday, with guests including striking sensations Alan Biley and Yakubu.

Meanwhile, supporters can head to the Fanzone from 1pm and as well as listening to our fantastic DJ, you can hear Q&As with Johnny Ertl, Martin Kuhl, Pedro Mendes and Svetoslav Todorov.

The turnstiles will open from 1.30pm and we will also bring you pitchside interviews with Doyle and Hermann Hreidarsson.

We will welcome all our returning players onto the pitch at half-time, with many joining fans in the Victory Bar after the game.

Please note that the timings and locations of our player visits are subject to change and dependent on the weather.

Andrew Dickinson – the son of club legend Jimmy Dickinson – will be placing the matchball on the plinth ahead of kick-off.

The Pompey Supporters’ Trust are also holding a bucket collection as part of the final stages of the fundraising drive to complete the stature of the former Blues and England star. Alternatively, you can click here to make a donation.

Fans have the chance to write their own name in club history by pre-ordering a fantastic new book that tells the entire history of Portsmouth Football Club.

Meanwhile, supporters in the North Stand can see our new Champions of England display that tells the story of when Pompey were the best side in the country.

Food & Drink
The shipping container behind the Fratton End will be serving premium beers and street food, such as fried chicken, pizza fries, cheesy chips and brisket loaded chips.

Meanwhile, pizza and Moretti is available from the kiosk four mezzanine in the North Stand.

The Victory Bar, shipping container and external North Stand kiosk will all be open from midday, while our delicious guest pie available to buy in all kiosks this month is lamb hot pot.

Please note that only supporters seated in the Fratton End will have access to the container bar at half-time.

We are continuing to trial the ‘beer token’ system in the North Stand. They are available from kiosks three and five, which have express queues, but can also be redeemed in any of the regular kiosk queues in the North Stand.

The system is also being extended into the South Stand for the first time and this can be found at kiosk 11 (near the Milton End).

Supporters in the North Lower should note that if the bars/kiosks get congested, there are more available in the North Upper.

The early bird special of a pie and a pint for just £7.95 (or pie and a soft drink for £6) is available from when the turnstiles open at 1.30pm until 2pm.

There are also freshly baked pies and sausage rolls available in kiosks across the stadium.

Meanwhile, the Lucky Row competition will ensure some lucky supporters win free pizza courtesy of Domino's.

Tickets & Travel
There is limited ticketing still available, including in the Milton End, and fans can click here to secure their seat.

If you are a season ticket holder and not planning to attend, then you could make your seat available on the ticket exchange (which remains open until 11.59pm on Friday) and receive a £5 credit.

Supporters not attending the game can listen to the action on iFollow, while those based outside the UK can watch live.

Planned rail strike action this weekend has been suspended, although fans should be aware of planned engineering works in the Haslemere and Salisbury areas. Click here for more rail information.

Enjoy the Game
