Amputees Crowned League Cup Champions

Blues pick up silverware

5 October 2023

Pompey Amputees won the EAFA League Cup last weekend, seeing off Everton and Chelsea at Reaseheath College.

Callum Fowler and Patrice Link’s side secured a 5-1 victory over the London-based club in their first clash of the day.

Jamie Tregaskiss and Matt Dean both bagged a brace, while TJ Yates wrapped up the contest late on.

And the Blues certainly did not hold back in their second tie of the day as they put another five goals past Everton.

Mickey Chambers found the corner from long distance to open the scoring against the Toffees.

And Tregaskiss, Dean and Yates were on for the second consecutive game, with the latter netting a brace to round off the scoring.

The amputee team’s triumph confirmed their place in the Champions League, which will take place in Malaga.

They will face Sahinbey, Bohemian and Paris FC in group B of the European competition in November.

Portsmouth FC amputees train once a week and have regular fixtures in the EAFA Premier League against teams such as Everton and Chelsea.
