It has certainly been an enjoyable few days in a Pompey shirt for Paddy Lane.
The Northern Ireland international found the target in Tuesday evening’s 3-2 victory at Barnsley that sent the club to the top of the League One table.
And he was at it again when Lincoln visited Fratton Park, grabbing an equaliser as the hosts fought from behind to win 2-1.
It ensured the Blues remain in pole position, but Lane knows that they cannot afford to rest on their laurels.
He said: “It’s the perfect week, but it doesn’t stop here because we’re only nine games into the season.
“We know what the aim is – and so does everyone around the ground – so we can’t just sit back on recent results.

“It’s nice not having to scroll down the league table to see where we are, but we want to be there at the end of the season.
“There’s been a lot of travel for us and it takes a toll, but that’s our job and so you have to deal with it.
“I thought we were all over Lincoln even before they scored and I can’t remember them creating much else, apart from that chance right at the end.
“It was a good display overall from us and the gaffer is always on at me to get into the box at the back stick.
“I took a touch and it’s gone inside the near post – I was buzzing to score in front of the fans at the Fratton End.
“You can’t ask for a better place and I want to keep making sure I get into those positions and put the ball in the back of the net.”
