A statue to the great Jimmy Dickinson MBE was unveiled at Fratton Park ahead of last Saturday's victory over Lincoln.
Fans gathered to watch club ambassador Alan Knight and Jimmy's son Andrew reveal the artwork – created by award-winning sculptor Douglas Jennings – in the north-west corner of the ground.
The project was inspired by the Pompey Supporters' Trust and funded through the generous donations of Blues fans and is another part of the 125th anniversary celebrations.
Dickinson appeared more than 800 times in all competitions as a left-half between 1946 and 1965, playing a pivotal role as the top-flight title was secured in successive seasons between 1948 and 1950.
He was also capped 48 times by England and featured at two World Cups, later working as Pompey's public relations officer, secretary and manager before his death, at the age of just 57, in 1982.
