Mick Quinn Announced As Special Guest At Awards Dinner

Former Pompey striker returning to Fratton Park

11 April 2024

Ahead of next week’s End of Season Awards Dinner, Portsmouth FC are excited to announce Mick Quinn as our special guest speaker.

The sold out gala ceremony takes place in the Victory Lounge at Fratton Park on Wednesday (April 17).

Supporters will enjoy an evening of fantastic food and great company at the annual black-tie event, which sees several awards presented to members of the men’s and women’s teams.

Guests will also get to hear from Quinn, who scored 68 goals in 137 appearances for the Blues between 1986 and 1989.

The striker appeared for Wigan, Stockport and Oldham prior to his arrival at Fratton Park for a fee of £150,000.

He ended as top scorer when Pompey finished as runners-up in Division Two in 1986/87 to reach the top-flight for the first time since the late 1950s.

Quinn’s prolific form on the south coast eventually attracted the attention of Newcastle and he continued to bang in the goals for them and Coventry.

Finishing his playing career in Greece, he became a popular radio presenter on talkSPORT and a successful racehorse trainer.

And Quinn will now be regaling Pompey supporters with tales from his eventful career on what is sure to be an entertaining evening.
