Pompey have completed the deadline day signing of midfielder Owen Moxon from Carlisle for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal to join fellow January arrivals Matt Macey, Myles Peart-Harris, Callum Lang and Tom McIntyre on the south coast.
Blues boss John Mousinho said: “Owen is a strong and powerful midfielder, who was one of the stand-out players in League Two last season.
“He’s managed to kick on again during the current campaign and has been one of Carlisle’s better performers.
“Owen has an eye for goal and takes a very good set-piece. He’s mobile and knows how to handle the ball, so we’re excited to have him at Pompey.”
"Owen is a strong and powerful midfielder, who was one of the stand-out players in League Two last season."
Moxon was released by Carlisle’s academy as a teenager and went on to play north of the border with Queen of the South and Annan.
He made almost 150 appearances for the latter club before returning to Brunton Park in the summer of 2022.
The first season back in Cumbria was a massive success, with the side winning the League Two play-offs to secure promotion.
Moxon netted in their penalty shoot-out success over Stockport at Wembley and was named in the division’s ‘Team of the Year’ at the EFL Awards.
He also picked up a host of Carlisle’s ‘Player of the Season’ prizes and struck nine times in 82 games for the club in total.
Absolutely delighted to be here! Can’t wait to get out in front of the fans. Ready for the challange ahead 👊 Thankyou to everyone for the messages of support 💙 https://t.co/lnOUrFIzsn
