Loan Watch: Young Blues In Non-League Action

Find out how Pompey players have fared

26 February 2024

Several members of the Pompey squad were involved for their loan clubs in recent weeks.

Harry Jewitt-White
Havant & Waterlooville have seen their form tail off after enjoying some resurgent form at the beginning of winter.

A run of five losses from the past seven games means that they remain nine points adrift of safety in the National League South.

Midfielder Jewitt-White started all but one of those matches, including Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bath at Westleigh Park.

Haji Mnoga
The defender missed several Aldershot games at the start of 2024 because he was away on international duty with Tanzania at the Africa Cup of Nations.

But he has returned to the side for the past four matches, which have seen wins over Altrincham and Barnet, sandwiched by defeats to AFC Fylde and Southend.

The Shots are currently sitting in sixth position, as they try to secure a spot in the National League play-offs.

Toby Steward
Another Hampshire side looking to secure promotion are Gosport, where Steward continues to shine between the sticks.

They have been a tad inconsistent of late, however, winning just three of their past seven Southern League Premier fixtures.

But Steward helped Boro collect all three points last week, keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory at Hungerford.

It leaves them sitting third in the standings after 30 matches and well placed to secure a spot in the play-offs.

Liam Vincent
After stints at Worthing and Chelmsford earlier in the second, Vincent joined another National League South side in Tonbridge Angels back in January.

The defender has started six of their past eight games, including a 2-1 home defeat to Slough at the weekend.

It leaves the Angels sitting comfortably in mid-table – 12 points clear of the drop zone, but nine adrift of the play-offs.

Destiny Ojo
After being recalled from his stint with Poole, the academy striker was lent to Sholing earlier this month.

He has been brought on in the second half of each of their past two fixtures, which resulted in narrow defeats to Chesham and Hungerford.

The Boatmen are 15th in the Southern League Premier and will be looking to increase the six-point gap to the relegation places.
