Owen Moxon recently made the journey down to Portsea Island from Cumbria to complete a switch to Pompey.
But the deadline day signing will now be making the mammoth trip back to face his former club this weekend.
Carlisle are sitting at the foot of the League One table, while the Blues remain at the summit after rediscovering their form.
And despite spending two seasons at Brunton Park, Moxon is hoping his new side can achieve another positive result on Saturday.
The midfielder said: “It’s probably better to get that one out the way! I’m looking forward to going back there so soon.
“Seeing a few familiar faces will definitely be nice, but we know that it’s going to be a tough game on Saturday.
"I’ve met some really great people in football, but once you cross over that white line, there are no friends."
“I’m just going to prepare for it as I would any other game and hopefully we can come back down with the three points.

Moxon came off the bench in the closing stages of last weekend’s convincing home win over Northampton to make his Blues bow.
He said: “It was packed out and the fans were brilliant. It was pretty comfortable when I came on and the game had already been wrapped up really.
“I was buzzing to be part of the group and to make my Pompey debut – hopefully there are many more appearances to come.
“For me, it’s all about playing games and trying to help take this club up. Everyone wants promotion this season.
“But it was nice just to be on the pitch and get familiarised with the place before having a full week of training.”
