Younger Suffers ACL Injury

Defender to miss the rest of the season

16 February 2024

Pompey Women defender Jazz Younger will miss the rest of the season after suffering an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tear, as well as additional damage to the knee.

The defender, who recently made her 100th appearance, left the field during the Blues' National League victory over Ipswich earlier this month.

And a scan confirmed that she is now set for an extended period on the sidelines, with the 23-year-old to begin rehabilitation after surgery.

Younger has made 13 appearances in the team that started the season in fine form, conceding only four goals in 14 matches, and this is the first major injury of her career.

The medical and welfare teams will continue to support Jazz and everyone connected with the club wishes her all the best in her recovery.
