Peart-Harris: The Next Step

Midfielder excited to get going at Pompey

25 January 2024

Myles Peart-Harris already has plenty of experience of League One football.

But after an ultimately unsuccessful battle to beat the drop at Forest Green last season, he is now ready for a challenge at the other end of the table.

The midfielder has arrived at Pompey from Brentford in a loan deal until the end of the season.

And he believes he has the required attributes to help the Blues maintain their promotion quest.

The 21-year-old said: "It's very exciting times for both me and the club and I'm looking to take the next step in my career.

"I had a good last season on an individual level, although it obviously wasn't so good as a team.

"I'm quite powerful and enjoy running in behind, but more importantly, getting in the box for goals and assists."

"But this is a club with a great history and we're looking to get promotion. When the proposal came to me, it was a straight 'yes'.

"I'm quite powerful and enjoy running in behind, but more importantly, getting in the box for goals and assists.

"There's a good group of guys here and I know a few of them already, which is helpful. It's not like the first day at a new school!

"I know Jon Harley, Chris Saydee and Tino Anjorin quite well and I was with Ben Stevenson last season."

Peart-Harris is looking forward to running out in front of the Fratton faithful, although Pompey's next two games are on the road.

He said: "I'm excited to meet the fans and put on a performance for them. I played here last season and know they're quite lively.

"It's important to have that support on the road as well to give us an extra push. Stick with us and hopefully we'll get those three points."
