Pompey Women v Ipswich Town: Family Funday At Westleigh Park

Blues back at home

8 March 2024

Pompey Women host Ipswich in a National League clash on Sunday (2pm kick-off).

And it is the perfect opportunity for the whole family to attend Westleigh Park, with various activities happening ahead of the big game.

Young Blues will once again have the opportunity to have their faces painted before having their favourite sculptures crafted by our balloon artist – free of charge!

And supporters can also meet the Pompey players after the clash to get autographs and take photos.

Tickets can be purchased online here from £3, with a discount on offer to Pompey season ticket holders.

Jay Sadler's side come into the game on the back of a dramatic 2-1 victory at Cardiff.

Ellie Sargent put the hosts ahead on 72 minutes, but Emma Jones netted two late goals to secure the points.

It is the first time the Blues will play at Westleigh Park since a thumping 7-0 victory over Chatham in February.

Ava Rowbotham and Sophie Quirk bagged a brace each, while Leeta Rutherford, Jones and Tierney Scott also found the target.

There were 918 supporters watching the clash and the team are hoping for another brilliant backing as they return to league action on home soil.

The Blues have already met the Tractor Girls twice in Suffolk in 2024.

Quirk and Nicole Barrett were on target to book the Blues a place in the National League Cup semi-finals, while Rutherford's early strike secured three points a week later.

Ipswich are currently sitting fourth in the standings, having collected 29 points from 15 games.
