Loan Watch: More Minutes For Young Blues

Find out how Pompey players have fared

18 March 2024

Several members of the Pompey squad have been involved for their loan clubs in recent weeks.

Harry Jewitt-White
The midfielder has remained a regular starter for Havant & Waterlooville in their unlikely bid to beat the drop from National League South.

He has helped them to a four-match unbeaten run that includes wins over Hemel Hempstead and Slough.

But there was frustration for the Hawks at the weekend, as they were held to a goalless draw at bottom side Dover.

The result leaves them 23rd in the standings and seven points adrift of safety with just seven games remaining.

Haji Mnoga
The defender was part of an Aldershot defence that won three successive games against Oxford City, Oldham and Ebbsfleet.

But he was sent off in the latter fixture and the side missed him on Saturday, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at struggling York.

The Shots are still sitting fifth in the National League table, though, and look well placed to secure a play-off spot.

Toby Steward
Another side who are favourites to extend their campaign via the play-offs are Southern League Premier side Gosport.

After suffering back-to-back home defeats against Beaconsfield and Poole, they have bounced back to beat Hayes & Yeading and Harrow Borough.

Keeper Steward started all four of those fixtures, helping Boro to keep clean sheets in the two victories.

Liam Vincent
The defender has started each of the past four games for Tonbridge Angels, who occupy a mid-table position in National League South.

That sequence includes home wins over Eastbourne and Torquay, as well as a 2-2 draw at Havant & Waterlooville.

Destiny Ojo
The academy striker (pictured) has moved to Isthmian League South East Division play-off hopefuls Lancing following the end of a short stint at Sholing.

His one start so far came in a 2-2 draw at Broadbridge Heath and included an assist for Charlie Bennett to score.

There was also a substitute appearance in a stalemate with Beckenham, but Ojo remained on the bench for Saturday’s win over Erith & Belvedere.

Sam Folarin
The teenage forward has moved to Bognor, although recent wet weather has denied him the opportunity to find some regular minutes.

He did come on as a late substitute in a narrow defeat to high-flying Hornchurch, but did not come off the bench at the weekend in a 1-0 win at Wingate & Finchley.

Robbie Blake’s men are mid-table in the Isthmian League Premier, although a late play-off push is not out of the question.

Jack Fox
The defender has returned for another spell with Baffins Milton Rovers, starting a 4-0 win over Hythe & Dibden.

He was also in the team for defeats to Moneyfields and AFC Portchester leaving the side ninth in the Wessex League Premier Division.
