Pompey players have been celebrating their title-winning campaign with a trip to Las Vegas.
And Christian Saydee knows they have to make the most of their time off before the hard work starts again.
The squad have been provided with fitness programmes to follow to ensure they return for pre-season training at the end of June in good shape.
But Saydee believes that they have earned the right to enjoy themselves first after securing a Championship return for the Blues.
He said: “The sports scientists send out the programmes for over the summer and that’s when it actually hits you.
“But it’s important that we have also had the chance to rest – and have a party – after such a long season.
"I was around a promotion winning side with Bournemouth a couple of years ago, but this time I was a proper part of it."

“Being able to play a lot of games for the side and make a contribution to the success is great for me.”
It has been just over a week since the city enjoyed a party on Southsea Common to mark Pompey’s achievement.
Saydee said: “It was an amazing day and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it. It was great to see so many people there.
“The fans turning out in such large numbers shows how much it means to them – just as it means so much to all us players.
“I wasn’t looking at the forecast because people were saying it was going to rain, so we were delighted that the sun came out.”
