French left-back linked back up with Kenny Jackett – the man who originally signed him for Wolves back in July 2015 – on a loan deal until the end of the season in January 2018.

Deslandes arrived at Molineux following the expiration of his contract with French side Caen and spent most of 2015/16 playing for the Under-21s.

Made his first team debut during Wanderers’ 2-1 EFL Cup win over Barnet in August ’15, before three Sky Bet Championship starts in April 2016.

Spent much of 2016/17 in the wilderness under Walter Zenga and then Paul Lambert, failing to make a first team appearance all season.

However, the youngster did feature three times for the club’s Under-23s in the Checkatrade Trophy that season, as well as playing against Pompey in the goalless Premier League Cup draw at Westleigh Park in November.

A fruitless loan spell at Bury followed in January 2017, where he failed to make a single appearance, before returning to first team contention under current Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

Impressed during his side’s 2-0 EFL Cup second round win over Southampton in August 2017, before featuring twice more in September.

Capped for France at youth level, the 20-year-old – born in Cameroon – is a keen social media interactor, even coining his own hashtag, #LandOfSylvain.
