Jacobs moved to Pompey in September 2020, having left Wigan at the end of the previous campaign.
The winger began his career at Northampton and won back-to-back 'Player of the Season' awards in 2010/11 and 2011/12.
His performances earned a move to Derby and Jacobs was then signed by Kenny Jackett – initially on loan – at Wolves.
Jacobs helped them secure the League One title with a record points tally of 103.
He moved to Wigan in the summer of 2015, where he picked up a medal for topping the third tier table on two more occasions.
Jacobs made a total of 188 appearances for the Latics and scored 32 goals, including a fine solo strike against Blackburn.
