The left-back – who can also play further forward – joined Pompey in June 2023 following his departure from Exeter.
Sparkes progressed through the ranks with the Grecians, making his senior debut for the club at age of just 16.
He was part of the side that finished runners-up in League Two to secure promotion to the third tier in 2021/22.
Sparkes made a total of 150 appearances for the Devon outfit and provided the assist when his former club were beaten at Fratton Park in just his fourth game for the Blues.
