The keeper joined Pompey during the summer 2023 transfer window following his departure from Huddersfield.
He progressed through the ranks with the Terriers and 33 of his 35 appearances for them came in the Championship.
Schofield had spells on loan at Hibs and Crawley during the 2022/23 campaign, having previously spent time with FC United of Manchester, Telford, Notts County and Livingston.
He has represented England up to under-20 level and saved a shoot-out penalty when they beat Ivory Coast to win the Toulon Tournament in 2017.
