Eleven Changes At AFC Wimbledon

Team news for Papa John's Trophy clash

Danny Cowley has rung the changes for Pompey’s Papa John’s Trophy group stage opener at AFC Wimbledon.

The entire starting 11 from the last league encounter at Wigan have been changed, with three players making debuts.

Jake Eastwood comes straight into the side after the goalkeeper completed an emergency loan switch from Sheffield United.

There are also starts for summer signing Louis Thompson in midfield and deadline day capture Mahlon Romeo at right-back.

Haji Mnoga is allowed to appear in Papa John’s Trophy matches, despite his loan switch to Bromley, with Connor Ogilvie and skipper Paul Downing completing the defence.

Reeco Hackett-Fairchild, Gassan Ahadme, Michael Jacobs, Ellis Harrison and George Hirst are the others to come into the side, with the latter making his first start for the club.

The entire bench is made up of academy players, including keeper Toby Steward and midfielder Harry Jewitt-White, who have recently been on international duty.
